Rebekah Liefer

Second Grade

Hi! I’m Rebekah (Schneider) Liefer. I teach 2nd grade at St. John’s Lutheran School and I love it!! I am originally from Spanish Lake in North County, St. Louis where my father was a pastor at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church (LCMS). I attended school at Grace Chapel Lutheran School, Lutheran High School North, and Concordia University, River Forest (Chicago). Immediately after graduation in 1993 I began teaching at Grace Lutheran School, a mission school in Hispanic inner city Chicago. After four years I moved closer to home to Red Bud (just close enough, just far enough!) and at that time began teaching 2nd and 3rd grades together at St. John’s. The following year I started teaching 2nd grade solely and have been ever since! I now call Red Bud my home, especially since I have my own family with my husband Brian, son of Doris and the late Robert Liefer, daughter Christine Joy who graduated St. John’s in 2021 and attends Christ Our Savior Lutheran High School, and son Brian James who will graduate St. John’s in 2024.  I am very blessed to be at such a Christ-centered school!!
